Faisel Sadiq (Faisel)
On Snail List Biography # 334 email: faiselsadiq@yahoo.co.uk

I first got interested in fountain pens when I started at middle school at nine years old and was told by my headmaster that all work had to be done using a fountain pen. My first pen was a a blue plastic Stypen that used international cartridges and which leaked constantly. The pen cost my mother 99 pence and it would be more than a decade later before I discovered that you could actually get pens that cost more than £10.

Since middle school I have always used a fountain pen to write with when possible. I used a fountain pen through university and bar school and I still use one when working today.

Whilst fountain pens have always been a love of mine I used to only ever own one at a time and never spent more than £10 on a pen until my wife bought me a Parker Sonnet shortly after I finished bar school. This pen sparked my interest finding out more about fountain pens and eventually I came upon Pentrace.

When not using my fountain pens I enjoy watching good films, discussing politics with friends (my politics is fairly liberal), reading history, going for long walks on Wimbledon Common and spending time with my wonderful wife.

Other interests :
film (especially Kurosawa), current affairs, history & the works of Naguib Mahfouz
